Today’s pilgrimage destinations are not only visited by adherents of particular religions related to the function of places of worship. The development of Pilgrimage tourist destinations has been worldwide. Tourists travel to pilgrimage destinations for various interests and expectations; some want to understand worship and other religious values , some are impressed with the architecture of heritage buildings, and some are looking for the meaning of the purpose of life. In this study, we discuss several well-known pilgrimage destinations in Indonesia, their concepts and values, and religious tourists’ points of view after visiting them. Pilgrimage tourist destinations in Indonesia are not always places of worship but also other elements that become people’s beliefs over time and cultural influence. Pilgrimage destinations can also be meaningful as a medium in the unity of various human differences, evoking a sense of respect and appreciation from the tourist experience.
